Everywhere I play I get a lot of compliments on my tone and its due mostly to the Tube Drive, Vibra Chorus, and Effectrode Compressor. From my perspective these pedals are once in a lifetime opportunities to buy something that will be very valuable as a collectible one day because they sound amazing, are made in extremely limited quantities, and are built to last, People just dont make stuff like this anymore because its not as profitable as mass producing something.

I have purchased the PC-2A compressor and have had excellent use from it and think it's a GREAT pedal. I have created my sound around this pedal. It's a great unit! My guitar dynamics have NEVER sounded so nice and uniform as is the case when using your pedal design. It immediately became THE most valued pedal I own! (of over well more than a dozen). If it were lost or stolen, I would immediately get another one. I've owned UREI's, Summits, and many other comps. over the years. This one designed for guitar, is THE best comp I've EVER used for that purpose! The few people that heard your influence on my sound, immediately heard the night/day difference it provides. It IS a STELLAR pedal !

Received the PC-2A yesterday. WOW. . . What a unit! I have many compressors in my home studio. (Maybe 10-12 different units; (tube & solid state) all, having individual signatures in response and audio quality). The PC-2A is no exception in that regard. It DEFINITELY has a 'SOUND' to it. A very pleasing sound! A CLEAR sound! A professional sound! I am able to adjust to taste easily; and the photo-optical control certainly rivals my Summit TLA-50 (for roughly half the cost) (both are mono units). That it's set up for guitar levels, means I can get the level of compression I like, (and guitar sound) virtually anywhere!
I played with it for several hours last evening, and always came back to finding a sweet spot very easy to dial in. I liked the limiter function very much as well. Very low noise in all applications. After the PC-2A comp. I also have a few delays, reverbs, DejaVibe etc. (Which doesn't hold a candle to the Tube Vibe I'm sorry to say). Guess I'll have to get one of those down the road ! I have three pedal boards chocked to the brim! All top notch units pretty much. This unit makes every other effect sound much better in solo and, in a collective mode. A VERY high improvement quotient!
Can't tell you how pleasing the dynamics are now! night & day difference. My sound is now fuller, tighter, more defined, more even, more musical! It does NOT get better than that! Been a player for 50 years now (started at age 8). Wish I had one of these a very long time ago! Trust I'll be recommending this product to many of my clients! Thanks to your engineers and production staff! A phenomenal product!

One charateristic is its ability to 'push' fuzz and overdrive, so I have found I have to reduce the gain settings very slightly on my Pete Cornish distortion pedals but, on the flip side, the compressor 'warms' them up, so it's a trade off, but a good one! As an example, if I play early Dire Straits licks like Lady Writer, I used mild overdrive (BK Tube Driver) after compression, but if I crank the Effectrode, I do not need the overdrive, which shows how powerful your pedal is. I was running it from a 56 strat into a 1971 Hiwatt DR103 and Yamaha RA100 Leslie in stereo.
With a bass it's simply awesome. Even better than with a guitar, and very focused for slap and finger bass with loads of sustain and 'cream'. We were running it from a 63 jazz into an Ashdown rig and 18" dub speakers!

My PC-2A compressor might be about my most used effect. This from a guy, who for 30 years, that hated compressors! I am a huge fan of BJFE, but even that famous compressor did nothing for me. I know of three people who have now bought your compressor on my recommendation and they all rave about it now!

I am a recording engineer and have dozens of compressors, including a pair of LA-2As, so I am very familiar with compression/limiting. Check out my website to see the studio. Anyway, your comp pedal sounds great! I really like how the PC-2A creates a nice midrange bump, and maintains the hi-frequency information - dare I say even adds a nice sparkle to the sound. I tried out every other compressor pedal out there, and settled on yours because of its sweetness.

It (the PC-2A) is by miles the quietest, most musical, full and sweet sounding compressor/limiter I have ever played through. It's basicalIy a pedal version of the classic Universal Labs LA-2A studio rack compressor. I have been using the Carl Martin Comp/Limiter for years on my pedalboard - I have to say this is a far superior-sounding unit (and the Carl Martin is no slouch.

Hi Phil, Just back from the doing Nobel Peace Prize and it was amazing. The pedal (PC-2A tube compressor) sounds fantastic and I'm sold! The pedal sounds fantastic. The attack and note level is perfect. After we did the show we did an impromptu two hour set at the artist after show reception, with Herbie Hancock and his band watching.

I love these pedals. They produce an incredible low-noise level, and they are conceived and built to perfection. Even with 'Peak Reduction' fully counter-clockwies, the PC-2A adds dimension to my tone, especially in clean setups. To make a long story short, even when I don't especially need compression, I have it turned on!

The Compressor is amazing! Without doubt the best pedal of any type I have ever used, makes everything (guitars, other pedals, amp) sound better. It sounds like the true nature of everything is brought out to its fullest extent when using this compressor, and there is nowhere to hide.

These little boxes can be used instead of a rack type comps easily - and their quiteness is unbelievable! Even with a hi-gain distortion they emit pure tone practically without any back noise! It's great! And the compression itself is just how it should be - very smooth, without sudden "jumps" like with other comps on the market, great "lifelong" sustain, every note identifies itself great, no "pump" effect!

I just wanted to drop you a note about the Compressor Pedal - its fantastic. I am using it for guitar, but it also REALLY shines for bass too. After I got used to it, I started to understand how good it is. I am very excited to have found it, and my pedal board with 6 Effectrode pedals will be done within 2 weeks, will send you a few shots... thanks again.

The noise floor on the tube compressor is so low I can turn the gain all the way up and get no additional noise--that translates into some nice sustain on solos, particularly on the neck pickup. Overall lead tones seem to be a lot less jagged sounding even when using the bridge pickup, I was getting close to the kind of smooth sustain that I recall on the solo from Is This Love by Whitesnake which was always one of my favorites and I have always coveted that tone, now I think I can dial it in pretty nicely. I can hear the compressor almost breathing, in a very transparent way when I strum clean chords riffs, it has a really nice warmth that is very musical and pleasing to the ear. Thats not something I can hear with chip based compressors, everything happens really abruptly it seems when there are chips involved.
