JAN 5965 is a Mil-Spec substitute for the 12AV7

The tube is a JAN / GE 5965 clear top NOS (New Old Stock) new in its original box. These are special military spec tubes with clear top dual O getter halo in the centre of the each plate (anode) and copper grid posts. The 5965 is a industrial tube close enough to 12AT7 / ECC81(replaceable), with low noise however lower gain (47 compared to 60 of a 12AT7 / ECC81).

This tube works exceptionally well in the Tube Drive in position one and with a 12AX7 in position two to create an even, well-rounded and mellow overdrive response.
